SD Tattoo and Body Piercing Donates 75 Pounds of Food to San Diegans in Need
Over the 2019 holidays, SD Tattoo and Body Piercing hosted a food drive for The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, and the results are in: Our holiday food drive gathered 75 pounds of food! The items we collected for this important event will provide 63 meals to people in need.
It’s important to know that hunger is a continuing threat throughout our community. According to the San Diego Hunger Coalition, there are 450,000 San Diego County residents who face food insecurity each day. A staggering 177,000 individuals included in that number are children. “Food insecurity” is a term ascribed to people who have little to no food at home—and don’t know where their next meal will come from. The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank in collaboration with its chapter in North County and many others in the community are trying to end hunger in San Diego by collecting and distributing emergency food to people in desperate need. The organization is the largest of its kind in San Diego County, and serves approximately 350,000 people each month.
We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated items for our holiday food drive. The tattoo artists, body piercers, and our entire team of professionals here at SD Tattoo and Body Piercing are genuinely thrilled to do our part to put a stop to hunger in our community, and we are deeply grateful to all those who provided donations and to The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank for letting us contribute to this wonderful cause!
