Nicki was raised in San Diego and has always had a passion for art. After graduating high school, she started to pursue a career in the tattoo industry because she wanted to use her artistic gift to make one of a kind designs that have meaning and last a lifetime. She started her apprenticeship in 2013 and trained in two separate shops before joining SD Tattoo in April 2016. While apprenticing, Nicki finished up her education at SDSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, emphasizing in Studio Arts. She’s been tattooing now since 2015 and has had the opportunity to learn new techniques from over a dozen talented artists with a variety of styles. Her favorite style is black and gray including dot work and fine line tattoos, but also enjoys doing realism, watercolor, and neo-traditional tattoos.
She feels blessed to be at SD tattoo because it is such a positive environment, everyone gets along and encourages one another to be the best that they can be. Outside of the shop she is involved in church and loves to travel and compete in Spartan Races for fun. Although skin is now her primary canvas, she still enjoys painting in oils and acrylics when she has the time. Her paintings have been featured in local galleries, murals, and on album covers.
“Being a female as well as a christian tattoo artist makes me to stand out in the industry, but I hope to be a light to others in the tattoo world.”
